New Delhi: The Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019, is one of the deadliest terror attacks in the history of India. The incident took place when a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a suicide bomber who was also traveling on a vehicle. The attack occurred in Pulwama and killed 40 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along with the perpetrator. On the occasion of the anniversary of the Pulwama attack, we take a look at the bravehearts who lost their lives that day.
As per reports, there were more than 70 vehicles in the convoy of the security forces which were attacked. A Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist named Aadil Ahmad Dar was driving the vehicle. The convoy was carrying more than 2,500 CRPF personnel. Among the CRPF jawans martyred on that day, most casualties were from Uttar Pradesh, at 12. Out of the rest of the martyred CRPF personnel, five were from Rajasthan while four were from Punjab. Also, there were personnel from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir and Bihar among those martyred.
