New Delhi: The death of veteran industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Naval Tata has left the business world in shock and several leaders are sending in heartfelt condolences with some calling him a true visionary, while some hailing him for shaping the country’s industrial and philanthropic landscape.
TVS Motor Co Chairman Emeritus Venu Srinivasan described late Ratan Tata as a truly remarkable business leader who placed the country before business interests. “Mr Tata was a truly remarkable business leader, the likes of whom nations get only once in a century,” Srinivasan said in a statement.
Commenting on Ratan Tata’s death, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla said India and the country’s industry have lost a true visionary. “Over the decades, generations of my family and I have had close ties with the institution of Tata. Ratan Tata epitomised the finest ideals of the storied Tata Group,” Birla said.
SBI Chairman CS Setty said Ratan Tata shaped the country’s industrial and philanthropic landscape. “His leadership at Tata Sons redefined corporate responsibility and innovation, positioning the Tata Group as a global force while remaining rooted in ethics,” Setty said.
Mourning the death of Ratan Tata, Google chief executive officer Sundar Pichai said the veteran industrialist was focussed on making India better.
“He leaves an extraordinary business and philanthropic legacy and was instrumental in mentoring and developing the modern business leadership in India. He deeply cared about making India better,” Pichai said in a post on X.
Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group, said Ratan Tata will never be forgotten because “legends never die”.
“With him gone, all we can do is to commit to emulating his example. Because he was a businessman for whom financial wealth and success was most useful when it was put to the service of the global community,” Mahindra wrote on X.
