RCB’s latest recruit Jacob Bethell flops again for Melbourne Renegades in BBL – WATCH

New Delhi: RCB’s latest recruit Jacob Bethell flop show continued in the ongoing Big Bash League against Perth Scorchers at the Perth Stadium on January 7, Tuesday. Bethell is a rising English player and debuted in all formats last year.

RCB picked up Bethell in the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction 2025 for Rs 2.6 crore. He is playing for Melbourne Renegades in the 14th season of BBL as he played six matches in BBL 14 and didn’t score any half-centuries nor did he take just one wicket in the season so far.

Renegades were chasing 148 run target and lost two wickets in the first over which made the entrance of Bethell on the pitch but he couldn’t make any impact in the match and was dismissed on just two runs in nine balls.

Jhye Richardson delivered a fiery ball with a pace of 146kmph in the fourth over which Bethell couldn’t handle and sent the ball in the air and got dismissed early in the match. Bethell was also giving under-par performances with the ball as he took only one wicket in this season.

Melbourne Renegades pull sensational victory against Perth Scorchers

Melbourne Renegades pulled off a great victory against Perth Scorchers. Scorchers post a score of 147 runs in 20 overs. Ashton Agar played a sensible innings and scored his first half-century of the season as he scored an unbeaten 51 runs in 30 balls.

In response, the Renegades lost two wickets in the first over, and half of the team was sent to the hut in the 10th over. Renegades skipper Will Sutherland and Thomas Stewart Rogers took the command after the drinks break and pulled off a memorable victory in BBL history.

Sutherland scored 70 runs in 45 balls and Rogers made unbeaten 49 runs in 31 balls and finished the match in the last over of the match.
