Varalakshmi Vrat Puja Vidhi
On Varalakshmi Vrat, devotees begin the day early, performing their daily rituals and thoroughly cleaning their homes. After a purifying bath, the home temple or worship area is cleaned, and Ganga water is sprinkled to sanctify the space. Devotees then take a vow to observe the fast while remembering Goddess Varalakshmi.
A wooden platform is covered with a clean red cloth, upon which idols or images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are placed. Rice grains are kept near the idol, and a water-filled Kalash is established.
A ghee lamp and incense sticks are lit in front of the idols, and offerings of flowers, durva grass, coconut, sandalwood, turmeric, kumkum, rice, and garlands are made to Lord Ganesha. Goddess Varalakshmi is then adorned with kumkum, rice, garlands, and sixteen adornments, followed by the offering of sweets. Devotees recite mantras and the Varalakshmi Vrat Katha, concluding the puja with an aarti and distributing prasad to all present.
