Mumbai: Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries (RIL) has confirmed that its shareholders have approved a key resolution, i.e., to issue bonus shares. RIL, India’s largest company as per the market capitalisation, has October 28, 2024, as the record date for finalising the equity shareholders of the company eligible for bonus equity shares.
On September 5, 2024, the board of directors of Reliance Industries gave the green signal to the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 i.e. every shareholder holding 1 (one) fully paid-up equity share of Rs 10/-each on the record date will receive 1 (one) fully paid-up equity share of Rs 10/- each.
The RIL bonus issue is touted as the largest ever issuance of bonus equity shares in the Indian equity market. The bonus shares will come as a Diwali Gift to all the RIL shareholders. Earlier, In 2017, Reliance Industries had issued bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 and later in 2020 it was followed by a Rights Issue in 2020, where shareholder’s investment has grown 2.5 times already.
RIL share price history and Q2 Results
The Reliance Industries shares were trading at Rs 2720 at 11:12 am. The stock has been down over 7 per cent in the last six months and has given around 15 per cent returns in the last one year. In its Q2 Results of 2024-25, the oil-to-telecom major reported that its Gross Revenue remained stable Y-o-Y at Rs 258,027 crore ($ 30.8 billion).
RIL’s quarterly consolidated revenue stood at Rs 258,027 crore ($ 30.8 BILLION). The company mentioned in its financials that there was a marginal increase in quarterly consolidated EBITDA at Rs 43,934 crore ($ 5.2 billion). The company reported a marginal decline in quarterly Profit After Tax of JIO platforms at Rs 6,536 crore while the quarterly Profit After Tax of Reliance Retail was recorded at Rs 2,935 crore.
