New Delhi: Hell in a Cell match has been an exciting part of the game, Every time WWE announces a fight inside Hell in a Cell, it becomes an exciting contest between the fighters. But no one knows about the first match that was fought inside in a Hell in a cell. WWE Legends The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels scripted history by facing each other in the WWE’s first Hell in a Cell on October 5, 1997, at St. Louis.

The fight was set up to determine the no. 1 contender for the WWF championship at Survivor Series. Michaels defeated The Undertaker by pinfall after a hard-fought battle for more than 30 minutes fight. It was also a historic night as the first WWE Hell in a Cell match also saw the debut of the masked Kane. Kane helped Michaels in the last moments by hitting piledrive to The Undertaker.

Recently, Michaels reacted to being part of the first Hell in a Cell match, he said ‘I will take pride in the fact that I was always the guinea pig—to see how some of these matches, these new ideas, these new, creative thoughts would work.”

Michaels was also surprised by seeing the Hell in a Cell match structure for the first time and thought about how WWE built this big structure. The fight went to the top of the cell where The Undertaker knocked off Michaels on the ground from the top.

It was one of the great matches in WWE history and the first match was successful inside the Hell in a Cell, later when two big stars collided WWE possibly arranged a Hell in a Cell fight between them.

WWE has hosted 52 Hell in a Cell match and now the recent match that will host inside the Hell in a Cell is between drew McIntyre and CM Punk at the Bad Blood event on October 6, Sunday.
