New Delhi: Explosive India batter Rinku Singh got engaged to Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj in Lucknow on Sunday. The engagement ceremony took place at the lavish Centrum Hotel and was graced by several prominent personalities. The event was a private affair in which the couple’s close friends, colleagues, and relatives were invited as they saw the two exchanging rings to commit to each other.
The heartwarming celebration was highlighted by the elegant and traditional attire of the couple as the 27-year-old Rinku donned a white sherwani while Priya opted for a pink lehenga. Glimpses from the ceremony are now taking over the internet as fans are congratulating the two for their new beginnings and sharing the pictures and videos from the grand affair, also including the guests and delicacies at the function.
Several senior Samajwadi Party leaders like Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Jaya Bachchan, Shivpal Yadav, and Praveen Kumar made it to the engagement as the couple posed for the cameras with them on the stage.
The couple’s entry to the event was quite dreamy as they gracefully entered the Fulcrum Hall of the five-star property, in shades of white and pink. The entire hall was beautifully adorned with floral arrangements and vibrant lighting. It is reported that the event had a presence of nearly 300 guests, including several from the cricket world as well, showing up for Rinku.
In one of the videos that has gone viral, when Rinku put the ring on Priya, she got emotional and was seen wiping her tears. The moment was indeed joyful, but Priya couldn’t hold her tears back when Rinku committed to her, becoming her fiancé. She later put the ring on Rinku, who looked quite cheerful with all his loved ones nearby, and the celebratory fireworks lighting the stage.

Although reports of Rinku and Priya’s wedding have been making rounds since the start of the year but it was just a week back that the development of the couple’s engagement came forth. It was reported that the two will be engaged on June 8 and will be tying the knot on November 18, at Hotel Taj in Varanasi this year.
Priya, 26, who is the daughter of SP MLA Tufani Saroj, was earlier in January rumoured to be getting married to Rinku as reports ran rife of the two’s family meeting with each other. Even Tufani Saroj had to quash the speculations of the couple having already been engaged, admitting the two families held “meaningful talks” regarding the wedding of their children, but the engagement news is false.
Who is Priya Saroj?
It is noteworthy that Priya is the youngest woman MP of India. She had won the Machhlishahr constituency seat at the age of 25 in the Lok Sabha Elections. Besides her political career, she is also a lawyer by profession, having practiced at the Supreme Court of India as well.
Priya completed her schooling from the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi and graduated from Delhi University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, also completing her Bachelor of Law (LLB) at Amity University, Noida.
