New Delhi: The second day of the Kanpur Test between India and Bangladesh had to be called off as well due to severe rains. Although fans got to see at least 35 overs on the first day, not even a single ball was bowled as continuous drizzle forced stumps on Day 2. But… for some of the Indian players, it was an opportunity to get into action in a different sport altogether.
While waiting for the rain to stop, the likes of Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, and Dhruv Jurel were seen playing foot volley high on their spirits. The game was delayed because the ground was totally covered with large patches of water, which were taking forever to dry up. Meanwhile, the Indian team players hung around with ex-India player Dinesh Karthik, who shared a short clip of their fun foot volley session.
Karthik, who is a part of the English commentary panel of the TV broadcast for the game, is a good friend of the current Indian team players. He shared the video on his Instagram story where Ashwin and Jurel took one side of the court while Siraj and Pant were on the other side. The team had returned to their hotel when it was known that the forecast wasn’t promising for the rest of the day and made the most of the opportunity to keep their athleticism alive for the day.

Is the play possible ahead?
With three days remaining for the second Test match, the weather for the third day is very similar to that of Saturday, although a bit better. This makes it quite clear that the game might see another abandoned day as the Kanpur clouds are expected to bring a dark and gloomy day to the table of both teams. The weather will be cleared for the remaining two days and it would be interesting to watch out for what action takes place then and what result this Test awaits.
While it poured heavily at the Green Park in Kanpur on Saturday, the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel, and Mohammed Siraj were seen playing foot volley. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
