New Delhi: Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa will lead Team India in the Hong Kong Sixes 2024. The tournament is returning for the first time since 2017 and a total of 12 teams will be divided into four pools.
Each team will play six-a-side matches, showcasing the explosive hitting and thrilling brand of cricket with shortened innings. The tournament is set to start from November 1 to 3 at the Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground.
Likes of Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, MS Dhoni and Anil Kumble have previously participated in the tournament. This time Robin Uthappa will captain the side and the other players picked for the tournament are Kedar Jadhav, Stuart Binny, Manoj Tiwary, Shahbaaz Nadeem, Bharat Chipli and Shreevats Goswami.

Team India’s fixture in Hong Kong Sixes
The 12 participating teams will be divided into four pools of three each, who will compete in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. While the winners of the quarterfinals will advance to the Cup semifinals and the losers of the quarterfinals will compete in the Plate semifinals. The last-placed team in each pool will play in the Bowl Competition.
India, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been drawn in the Pool C. The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match is scheduled for November 1. South Africa, Pakistan and Hong Kong are placed in Pool A while Australia, England and Nepal are in Pool B. Pool D features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Oman. England, South Africa and Pakistan have won five titles each while India last won the tournament in 2005.
