New Delhi: As many as four Indians found a spot in the ICC’s T20I men’s Team of the Year 2024, announced on Saturday, January 25. Rohit Sharma was named the captain of the side while ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah featured alongside left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was also included in the star-studded XI while star batter Virat Kohli missed out.

India lifted the T20 World Cup title last year after enjoying a dominant unbeaten run in the tournament. Rohit, Hardik, Bumrah and Arshdeep played a key role in India’s memorable triumph at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit led India to their 2nd T20 World Cup crown last year and was also the leading run-getter for the Men in Blue in the tournament with 257 runs from 8 matches at an average of 36.71 and an impressive strike rate of 156.71. Hardik produced a brilliant all-round show as he finished with 141 runs at a strike rate of over 151 and 11 wickets in the tournament.

Arshdeep was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2024 with 17 wickets from 8 matches but Bumrah was arguably the best bowler in the tournament despite not topping the wicket-taking charts. The Indian pace spearhead finished with 15 wickets from 8 matches at a stunning average of 8.27  and an unbelievable economy rate of 4.17.
