New Delhi: India skipper Rohit Sharma and her wife Ritika Sajdeh have finally revealed the name of their newborn son, whom they welcomed on November 15. Already parents to a girl Samaira who was born in December 2018, the couple had a second child enter their little family. Due to this, Rohit missed the first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) and only joined the squad in Australia on Day 3 of the opening Test in Perth.
As the BGT approached, there were several reports about the unavailability of Rohit for the first Test due to the couple expecting a second child in the coming days. Rohit informed the BCCI of him being unavailable and the team left India without him. He delayed his travel further, staying with Ritika for a good one week post the birth of his so,n and only reached Australia on November 24.
The couple had made an Instagram post, confirming the birth of their second child, but didn’t announce what they named the little boy. It might have been the case that they didn’t name him immediately. After 15 days of their child’s birth, Ritika finally revealed the name of the little boy on Sunday through an Instagram story. Posting a Christmas-themed family picture including four dolls, the little boy doll had “Ahaan” written on his red Christmas cap.

Rohit to slot back in for Adelaide Test
As Rohit was absent from the Perth Test, Jasprit Bumrah took the role of the stand-in skipper for India. He led India to a comprehensive 295-run victory to give the visitors a lead of 1-0 in the five-Test series. India have been strengthened now that Rohit has returned to the squad and is expected to open alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in the Adelaide Test that starts on December 6.
His inclusion in the playing XI means a change in the batting order. Also reportedly coming in the squad is Shubman Gill, who missed the first Test due to a thumb injury. He has returned to the nets and looks set to be included in the playing XI for the second Test.
