Islamabad: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar , who is on Pakistan visit to attend the SCO meeting, on Tuesday morning went out on a morning stroll on the campus of High Commission of India in Islamabad.
During his morning stroll, he was accompanied by the staff members of the Indian High Commision in Pakistan .
While sharing a picture from his morning walk social media platform X, the Foreign minister captioned the post, “A morning walk together with colleagues of Team @IndiainPakistan in our High Commission campus (Sic).”
The EAM also participated in a plantation activity on the campus by planting a sapling of Arjuna. “An Arjuna sapling at @IndiainPakistan premises is another commitment to #Plant4Mother,” he wrote in another post.
Meanwhile, Jaishankar arrived in Pakistan to attend the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation on Tuesday.
The two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2024 began in Islamabad, capital city of Pakistan , on October 15. The summit’s theme, “Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue; Striving towards a Sustainable Peace and Prosperity,” reflects a focus on collaboration and progress.
The SCO member countries will be represented by the prime ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as the vice president of Iran and the external affairs minister of India.
The key agenda of the meet includes regional security and counter-terrorism efforts, bolstering connectivity networks for trade and investment, fostering economic cooperation and addressing climate change concerns.
