New Delhi: Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with great devotion and passion across the nation on Saturday, September 07. The Hindu festival is celebrated to welcome Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity, who is known as the God of wisdom and new beginnings. People install new idols of Lord Ganesha at their homes on the day to celebrate the occasion.
Several celebrities celebrated the festival with their friends and families and shared glimpses of their celebrations on social media. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar too took part in the festivities with his family members at his home. Tendulkar shared a clip of himself performing puja at his home as he and his family welcomed Lord Ganesha home.
“As we welcome Lord Ganesha into our homes, may he remove all obstacles and fill our lives with joy and prosperity,” Tendulkar wrote in his post.

Tendulkar had recently lauded the Maharashtra government for their decision to immortalise his childhood coach Ramakant Archrkar at the iconic Shivaji Park with a statue of the Dhronachaya awardee. Tendulkar trained under Achrekar as a child at the Shivaji Park before making his debut for India and becoming one of the greatest batters of all time.
Tendulkar had also shared a picture of the spot where his childhood coach Archrekar’s state will be erected at the Shivaji Park. It is at the same spot where the Master Blaster began his cricketing journey as a child. Apart from Tendulkar, Achrekar also coached the likes of Vinod Kambli, Ajit Agarkar, Lalchand Rajput and Rames Powar among others.
