Salah’s record-breaking streak continues against Manchester United at Old Trafford

New Delhi: Liverpool have collected all of the nine points possible from the three games, as Arne Slot’s team joins Manchester City at the top as the only side to have won all three opening games with City leading the points table on Goals for. The Reds are yet to concede a single goal from their first three games this season.

Sunday’s match against Manchester United showed how good Liverpool have started this season as they thrashed the hosts 3-0, with a brace from Luis Diaz and a goal from Mohamed Salah. Salah made a standout performance with two assists and a magnificent final goal that ultimately sealed United’s fate in the end.

Salah made 15 goals from his 16 appearances against the Red Devils with that goal and his 12th at the Premier League against United. The 32-year-old has started the season strong, getting on the scorecard in all three games. Old Trafford witnessed history being made as Salah netted his seventh consecutive goal against United. He also has scored the most goals in the stadium from a visiting player, with ten goals from nine games.

On average, Salah scores 1.3 goals per match against the Red Devils, becoming the player with the most goals between the two clubs. It is well known that the Liverpool right-winger enjoyed playing against United, scoring a brace in Liverpool’s 7-0 win two seasons back. Behind United, Salah has shown a great performance against Tottenham Hotspurs, with 12 goals from 20 appearances and 11 goals from 21 games coming against Manchester City.

As the two side’s Dutch managers met for the first time in the Premier League, Slot’s men managed to give him a win on his first attempt against United. He is the first Liverpool manager to do so since Bob Paisley’s 1975 win at Anfield in 1975. Liverpool’s win will boost confidence in the side who could not beat United the previous season during Jurgen Klopp’s farewell campaign.

The Egyptian international has now scored in seven consecutive matches against United, making hosts of records in the process last Sunday.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
