New Delhi: Widespread rumours are circulating on social media that India’s tennis queen Sania Mirza is set to marry Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami. Though the news is not confirmed, speculations of Sania and Shami have been doing the rounds. Neither the former tennis star nor the superstar Indian cricketer has spoken on the rumours, which first circulated on social media at the beginning of the year as soon as the divorce of Sania hit the headlines.
Social media users started speculating that Sania is seeing Shami and later the news of their marriage started doing the rounds on social media.
Sania and Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik’s divorce was confirmed in January after the latter confirmed his marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed. The Indian tennis superstar and Pakistani all-rounder got married to each other in Hyderabad in 2010 and were residing in Dubai.
Some reports revealed a three-year affair between Shoaib and Sana while the cricketer was still married to Sania, who was unhappy with her marriage.
Meanwhile, Shami and his wife Haseen Jahan have been living separately since 2018 after she accused him of domestic violence and adultery.
In 2023, a Kolkata court ordered Shami to pay a monthly alimony of Rs 50,000 to his estranged wife four years after she made several allegations against the fast bowler.
Is there any truth to the speculations?
The rumours of Sania and Shami’s wedding surfaced in January 2024 with some social media users even sharing a photo, claiming that they have already entered into a wedlock.
The truth, however, seems a million miles away from the speculations as neither Sania nor Mohammed Shami has confirmed anything. On top of that, there hasn’t been a single credible report about their alleged relationship.
