New Delhi: Sanju Samson is considered among one of those cricketers who does not show his anger on the field but on Saturday during an Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against Punjab Kings, the Rajasthan Royals skipper lost his cool. All the fans and cricketing world was astonished on seeing the frustrated side of Samson as he threw his bat in the air after getting dismissed.

The incident took place in the 11th over of the first innings when the Royals lost their first wicket in form of Samson. Being placed at 89/0, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was batting on the other end, was failing to score big hits that put the pressure on Samson. In a process to accelerate, Samson played a rash shot and had to depart to the pavilion after a fiery knock of 38 runs off 26 balls which included 6 boundaries.

Lockie Ferguson, who was bowling the over, bowled a fuller length delivery which Samson attempted to hit but ended up mis time it and the ball went straight away into the hands of the fielder at mid-off. Samson showcased his frustration by throwing his bat in the air.

For the first three matches of the IPL 2025, Samson was playing as a batter and was coming in as impact substitute because he suffered from an index finger injury and had a successful surgery on it. In today’s match, he returned to lead the Royals against PBKS. Meanwhile in the stipulated 20 overs, Rajasthan scored massive 205/4 runs giving Punjab a target of 206 to win the match. Riyan Parag scored unbeaten 43 after Samson’s fiery knock and Jaiswal’s half-century. Lockie Ferguson scalped two wickets while Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen claimed a wicket each.
