New Delhi: Bank branches will remain open on Saturday, December 7, 2024, which is the first Saturday of the month. According to RBI rules, banks are shut every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Banks will also remain closed on all Sundays of the month, according to RBI rules. The RBI also issues a monthly holiday calendar to indicate days on which banks will remain closed across the country and in states. The statewide holiday list is available on RBI’s website.
To be sure, if banks are shut down, customers can use digital and mobile banking to carry out emergency transactions. UPI services are also up and running during bank holidays.
