Mumbai: Bloodbath was reported on Dalal Street on Tuesday as Stock market indice – BSE Sensex went down by nearly 5 per cent as heavy profit-booking was recorded. The markets touched a new highs on June 3 after exit poll predictions projected a big win for BJP-led NDA alliance in Lok Sabha Election 2024.

At 11:57 am, BSE data showed that Sensex was down by 3802.83 points and was trading at 72,665.95.
Latest data showed that among the 30 Sensex companies, State Bank of India (SBI) plummeted over 10 per cent, while Power Grid and NTPC went south by nearly 10 per cent. Other big losers were Larsen & Toubro, Axis Bank, Tata Steel and Reliance Industries.
According to TV9, the BJP-led NDA was leading in 290 Lok Sabha seats to cross the majority in trends available, while the Congress also crossed the 100-mark in terms of leads.
The benchmark equity indice, Sensex continues to be in Red as the latest trend of Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results showed BJP winning lesser number of seats than predicted in exit polls.
BSE Sensex went down 3566.61 points since its opening today. The benchmark indice was down 4.66 per cent. At 11:26 am it was at 72,843.30.
Benchmark equity indice – Sensex plummeted today due to heavy profit-taking after a massive rally in yesterday’s trade as initial counting for the Lok Sabha election showed a mixed trend.
The 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 72,867.72 at 11:16 am on June 4. I.e. today. In early trade, the indice was down 1,715.78 points to touch 74,753. Later, the BSE benchmark went further down by 2,623.91.
Top losers in the Sensex are as follows: Larsen & Toubro, Power Grid, NTPC, State Bank of India, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank.
