Mumbai: The Pradosh Vrat holds deep religious significance in Sanatan Dharma, observed twice every month on the Trayodashi (13th) tithi of both the Shukla and Krishna Paksha. Devotees worship Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and the entire Shiva family on this sacred day. Mentioned in the Shiv Puran, the vrat is believed to bring peace, prosperity, and relief from life’s troubles when observed with true devotion.

In April 2025, the first Pradosh Vrat of the month falls on a Friday, making it a Shukra Pradosh Vrat, which is considered especially auspicious. It’s a prime opportunity for spiritual seekers to honour Lord Shiva and seek his blessings for happiness and abundance at home.

When is Shukra Pradosh Vrat in April 2025?

According to the Hindu Panchang, the Krishna Paksha Trayodashi tithi of the Vaishakh month will begin at 11:44 AM on 25 April and will end at 8:27 AM on 26 April. Since the tithi will be in effect at sunrise on 25 April, the Shukra Pradosh Vrat will be observed on that day. Falling on a Friday, it is called Shukra Pradosh Vrat – “Shukra” denoting the day of Venus (Friday).
