New Delhi: South Africa have announced their playing XI for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia starting at Lord’s on June 10, Wednesday. Temba Bavuma will lead the team in what will be the biggest red-ball match in the Proteas’ cricket history, while Kagiso Rabada will spearhead the pace bowling attack, which also includes Lungi Ngidi and Marco Jansen.
Left-arm orthodox spinner Keshav Maharaj is the lone specialist tweaker in the playing XI. Middle-order batter Tristan Stubbs is expected to provide support to Maharaj with his part-time off-spinners.
Ryan Rickleton, who enjoyed a decent stint with the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, will headline the batting order. The left-handed opener is South Africa’s top scorer in the WTC 2023/25 cycle, will hold the responsibility alongside Bavuma, Wian Mulder, Aiden Markram, and Tristan Stubbs.
The Proteas team management has decided to stick with Mulder at No.3 despite the batter’s struggles against Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the last two series of the Proteas before the final.
