New Delhi: Hours after Australian batter Glenn Maxwell bid adieu to ODI cricket, South African wicket-keeper batter Heinrich Klaasen announced his retirement from international cricket. Klaasen, 31, shared the news on his Instagram handle and wrote that he is stepping away from international cricket to spend more time with his family.

The talented cricketer was known for his aggressive batting in white-ball cricket and made a significant impact as a middle-order batter, who always took the game to the opposition.

Klaasen made his international debut in February 2018 in a One-Day International (ODI) match against India. In the same month, he also made his T20I debut against India. His Test debut was also against India in October 2019.
