Stocks in News Today: Acme Solar, Akums, ITC, MobiKwik, NHPC and more

New Delhi: Indian indices closed flat on Thursday in the absence of foreign cues owing to year-end holidays abroad. The Sensex slipped 0.39 points to close at 78,472.48 while the Nifty closed 22.55 points higher at 23,750.20 on Thursday. On the 30 share Sensex, Titan, Asian Paints, and were the top drags while Adani Ports, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Maruti Suzuki were the top gainers.

Despite the absence of external triggers, investors remained cautious about potential rate cuts in 2025 as well as the weaker rupee against the US dollar, said Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services. Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Friday, December 27, 2024:

Acme Solar Holdings: The company on Thursday raised Rs 1,988 crore from the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) towards funding a 300 MW hybrid project secured by the company in an SECI auction, it said in an exchange filing.

Akums Group: The contract manufacturer entered into a strategic agreement worth 200 million euros (or Rs 1,760 crore) with a global pharma company firm for the manufacturing and supply of drug formulations. These products are aimed at the European market, Akums said without naming the company.

Gensol Engineering: The company on Thursday said it had secured a Rs 897.47 crore EPC contract worth from NTPC Renewable Energy to develop 225MW grid-connected solar PV projects ín Khavda, Gujarat.

ITC: The gruop’s soon to be demerged hospitality arm ITC Hotels opened a new property at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh under its Welcomhotel brand. This is part of the company’s strategy to train its focus on tier-2 and -3 cities. The 122 key hotel is spread across 15,000 square ft

Indian Oil Corp: The oil marketing company plans to invest Rs 61,000 crore into a naphtha cracker project in Odisha.

Jubilant Food: The company inked an MoU with Coca-Cola for the purchase of sparkling drinks and other products offered by the beverages maker.

Kalpataru Group: The Mumbai-based company warned members of the public against making connections between the realty consultancy recent and ED searches carried out on a similarly named Ponzi operation in Uttar Pradesh. The ED seized Rs 1.02 crore cash from raids on Kalpataru Group of companies at multiple locations in Utar Pradesh.

MobiKwik: Peak XV Partners sold a 1.5 per cent stake in the payments compoany for Rs 82 crore via open market transaction. Peak XV Partners arm Peak XV Partners Investment Holdings III sold 12.01 lakh shares via a bulk deal on the NSE.

Mankind Pharma: The compoany inked an agreement with Innovent Biologics for exclusively licensing and and commercialising the innovative immunotherapy drug Sintilimab, used for cancer treatment. The partnership is aimed at the Indian market.

NHPC: The hydropower project major said it will complete 3 units of 250 MW each from the Subansiri Lower HE Project by May 2025 a. The remaining 5 units are likely to be completed by May 2026 in phases, NHPC added.

Power Mech Projects: The company said it had received a Rs 186 crore project from Jaiprakash Power Ventures.
