New Delhi: The benchmark Sensex surged 666.25 to close at a new high of 85,836.12 on Thursday while the NSE Nifty ended the day at 211.90 points higher at 26,216.05, backed by a rally in auto and banking stocks, and tracking gains in global markets. Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Friday, September 27, 2024:
Allcargo Gati: The company announced plans to increase express shipment prices 10.2 per cent on average starting from January 1, 2025. This is aimed at offsetting the significant rise in costs while accounting for inflation and administrative costs, the company said.
Balmer Lawrie: The company plans capex worth Rs 700 crore aimed at achieving revenue goals of Rs 6,000 crore by 2030, according to a company official. The company also plans to pivot into ethanol production, apart from setting up a free trade warehousing zone in Mumbai, said Chairman and MD Adhip Nath Palchaudhuri.
BEL: The company is likely to enter the NIFTy 50 index after the September rejig according to brokerage Nuvama Securities.
Five–Star Business Finance: A clutch of investors offloaded a 14.24 per cent stake in the company which was picked up by the likes of Goldman Sachs, Nomura, Morgan Stanley, IMF and others. The stake was valued at Rs 3,336 crore and was conducted by open market transactions.
Infosys: The IT giant said it has entered into a strategic collaboration with US-based beauty retailer Sally Beauty Holdings for multiple support services, according to an exchange filing.
NTPC: The company’s arm NTPC Green Energy entered into a JV with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology to develop 10 GW of Renewable Energy parks and other renewable projects in Maharashtra, among other states.
Piramal Enterprises: The company informed exchanges that it offloaded a stake in Shoquba Realty for Rs 187 crore via a deed of convenience.
PNB: The lender closed its Rs 5,000 crore QIP on Thursday which was launched with a floor price of Rs 103.75 apiece.
RIL: Reliance Foundation chair Nita Ambani and Reliance Jio chief Akash Ambani joined the board of media company Viacom18 prior to its merger with Walt Disney’s India business, according to people familiar with the matter.
Reliance Infrastructure: the company’s board will meet on October 1, 2024, to consider a proposal to raise funds for long-term resources.
SAIL: The steelmaker passed a resolution authorising its board to conduct ‘material-related party transactions’ up to Rs 9,000 crore with the JV NTPC-SAIL Power Company, according to an exchange filing.
SJVN: The PSU company inked 2 initial agreements with the Maharashtra government for the development of pumped storage and floating solar projects of 81,000 MW facilities worth Rs 48,000 crore.
Sugar companies: Stocks of sugar companies are likely to be in focus on Friday after the Centre announced plans to raise the MSP for sugar and ethanol prices, apart form considering ethanol exports.
SpiceJet: The domestic carrier said it has cleared pending salary dues of its staff post securing a fund infusion worth of Rs 3,000 crore, according to a person familiar with the matter. This included the pending salaries for the months of July and August apart from remaining part payments for June salaries, the person added.
Tata Motors: The Tata Group company’s luxury arm Jaguar Land Rover plans to invest 500 million pounds to revamp its Halewood factory in England to ramp up EV production.
Trent: The Tata Group company is likely to enter the benchmark Nifty50 index after the September rejig, according to estimates by the brokerage Nuvama Securities.
Union Bank of India: Workers of the bank have proposed a strike on September 27, 2024, against bank management, which may affect some branches. These workers are expected to equal 7 per cent of UBI’s total workforce.
Zaggle Prepaid Ocean Services: The fintech company acquired a stake in 2 companies equalling Rs 48 crore. It picked up a 98.32 per cent stake in Span Across IT Solutions and a 26 per cent share in Mobileware Technologies, according to exchange filings.
Zomato: The company’s direct rival Swiggy filed it papers for an IPO comprising a fresh issue of Rs 3,750 crore and an OFS of 18.52 crore shares.
