Stocks in news today: Coal India, DLF, IRFC, Canara Bank and more

Mumbai: As the first full session of Stock market is all set to open in Samvat 2081, the shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), Coal India, DLF, Canara Bank and other companies are expected to remain in focus on November 4, 2024 (Monday).

Coal India share price

Coal India shares are expected to remain in news today as the company is looking to eliminate Rs 2,200 crore in accumulated losses at its subsidiary, Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL), and to rejoin the dividend list by next financial year.

“ECL is performing well and is on track to meet its production target of 54 million tonnes this year. We expect to eliminate two-thirds of its Rs 2,200 crore accumulated losses this fiscal year, with the remaining losses cleared by the following year, allowing it to rejoin the dividend list,” Prasad said.

IRFC share price

The shares of IRFC are likely to remain in news as the Railway PSU will be declaring its July-September quarter results of 2024-25. IRFC is a Schedule ‘A’/Miniratna Public Sector Enterprise under administrative control of Ministry of Railways, Government of India.

Canara Bank share price

Canara Bank has planned to recover about Rs 6,000 crore from bad loans during the Q2 of 2024-25. The state-owned bank confirmed recovering Rs 2,905 crore, including recovery in written-off accounts, in July-September quarter. “We are anticipating recovery somewhere about Rs 3,000 crore in the third quarter and a similar amount in the fourth quarter,” Canara Bank managing director and CEO K Satyanarayana Raju told PTI.

DLF share price

DLF shares are likely to be in focus today after the real estate major announced it will invest around Rs 8,000 crore to develop an ultra-luxury housing project in Gurugram. In September 2024, DLF did a pre-launch of its 17-acre super-luxury housing project ‘The Dahlias’ at DLF 5, Gurugram.

According to reports, DLF has plans to pump in Rs 8,000 crore over the next 4-5 years on the construction of the new project, which will be built in nearly 50 lakh square feet of area.
