Stocks to Watch: Amara Raja, Ambuja Cements, Sun Pharma and more

New Delhi: Indian indices closed higher on Monday, June 24, 2024, led by a surge in auto and consumer shares. The Sensex and Nifty closed at highs which were moderated by a selloff in small- and mid-cap stocks led by markets regulator SEBI’s front-running probe against Quant Mutual Fund. All eyes will be on the developments in this probe.

Amara Raja: Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies inked an agreement to license GIB EnergyX Slovakia’s lithium-ion cells technology. Gotion High-Tech Co unit GIB EnergyX will license Gotion’s ‘LFP technology’ for lithium-ion cells to Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT). ARACT is a wholly-owned unit of Amara Raja Energy and Mobility, according to an official statement.

Shree Cement: The company reported that it had achieved installed power capacity of 1,000 MW. The country’s 3rd largest cement manufacturer has commissioned a 19.5 MW solar power plant at its Andhra Pradesh unit. This is a mix of solar, wind, thermal and waste heat recovery power plants, the comoany said in a statement. The power installation aims to aid in cement production.

TVS Electronics: The unit of TVS Motor Co said it had added a unit for Electronics Manufacturing Services in its Tumakuru facility in Karnataka. The facility offers such capabilities as PCB assembly and product testing apart from box building and supply chain.

Ambuja Cements: The Adani Group company won 24 bids for new limestone mines within an estimated 587 million tonnes of resources. The company also has the rights to 1 billion tonnes of limestone reserves as a result of its acquisition of Sanghi Industries.

Sun Pharma: The pharma major said it had completed the $347.73 million merger of Taro Pharmaceutical Industries with itself, making the latter a wholly owned unit of Sun Pharma. Taro operates in the US, Canada, Israel and Japan., with factories in man It has manufacturing facilities in Canada and Israel.
