Karine Jean-Pierre the White House Press Secretary found herself in a challenging position when a reporter asked about Vice President Kamala Harris’ notable achievements. Pierre was asked to describe a “specific policy” achieved by Harris during a press conference on Monday The query gained traction given her new role as the Democratic presidential nominee and her focus on handling the “root-cause” of illegal immigration.
The reporter’s question put Jean-Pierre on the spot: “What does President Biden see as Vice President Harris’ greatest accomplishment during their time in office together?”
Jean-Pierre’s responded stating, “So look, because they’ve been partners … certainly those historic, unprecedented achievements have been done together.” She underscored Biden’s confidence in Harris, noting that one of his proudest decisions was selecting her as his running mate in 2020. Jean-Pierre emphasized their joint efforts and Harris’ integral role in various capacities, from legislative advocacy to strategic discussions.

When pressed further on whether Harris’ achievements could be distilled into a specific policy or were more of a “comprehensive whole,” Jean-Pierre reiterated that their accomplishments should be viewed collectively.
“I would say it’s a comprehensive whole,” she replied.
She mentioned Harris’ involvement in facilitating significant legislation and participating in key policy decisions as evidence of her contributions.
Netizens react to Jean-Pierre’s response
However, Jean-Pierre’s answers were met with criticism online. Social media users expressed skepticism about the clarity and substance of Harris’ accomplishments.
One user on X remarked, “I will say, her response was as good as it could have been. There are no achievements. KJP did a good job here imo.”
Another user added, “She’s as bad as Harris!” while a third expressed sympathy for Jean-Pierre, stating, “I have sympathy for KJP. There are no Harris achievements. It’s an empty portfolio.”
