New Delhi: Pakistan is all set to launch its multi-mission communication satellite, PAKSAT MM1, this Thursday, May 28, with hope for “the transformation of the country into Digital Pakistan.” However, China will help Islamabad in achieving its space dream as the launch will take place from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre (XSLC).
The announcement was made by a spokesperson for the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), who said that scientists and engineers are currently examining the PAKSAT MM.
As per the statement by the space agency, the PAKSAT MM1 is a joint venture between Suparco and China’s space industry, keeping in sight the growing needs of the country in the broad spectrum for better communication and connectivity.
“This satellite project is a hallmark of technological cooperation between the Peoples’ Republic of China and Pakistan,” it read.
Exuding confidence, the suparco said that if successful then this research will prove to be a stepping stone in the transformation of the country into the ‘Digital Pakistan.’
“It will prove to be a stepping stone in the transformation of the country into Digital Pakistan,” it further read.
This launch will be live-streamed from the space agency’s establishments in Karachi and Islamabad.
This launch comes after Pakistan earlier this month launched its first lunar mission, iCube-Qamar, which recently shared images of the moon.
It is to be noted that so far, Pakistan has sent six satellites in space BADR-A, BADR-B, PAKSAT 1-R, PRSS-1, PakTes 1-A and iCube Qamar.
