New Delhi: Aluminum is a great material for making electricity transmission lines because it conducts electricity well and is less expensive than other metals like copper. It also makes steel stronger and lighter by mixing it with other metals like copper, manganese, magnesium, and silicon. Aluminium is good for the environment, too, because it can be recycled many times, saving up to 95 per cent of the energy used in making it from scratch.
Although aluminium is one of the most abundant metals on earth, it is not found in its pure form. Companies mine bauxite and process it to make alumina, which is then turned into aluminium through smelting. Here are the top aluminium-producing countries in the world.

1. China
China produces 41 million metric tonnes of aluminium, more than half of the global production, and it also consumes a lot of aluminium.
2. India
India produces 4.1 million metric tonnes of aluminium, making it the second-largest producer. India’s aluminium output has been consistently growing in recent years.
3. Russia
Russia produced 3.8 million metric tonnes of aluminium last year, slightly up from the previous year. RUSAL, the leading global aluminium producer, is headquartered in Moscow.
4. Canada
Canada’s aluminium production totalled 3 million metric tonnes in 2023, up from 2.77 million MT the previous year. Québec is the leading aluminium jurisdiction in Canada, housing ten primary aluminium smelters.
5. United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates (UAR) produced 2.7 million metric tonnes of aluminium, maintaining steady production levels over the years.
6. Bahrain
Bahrain’s aluminium production in 2023 was 1.6 million metric tonnes. The aluminium sector is a major source of Bahrain’s export revenue.
7. Australia
Australia’s aluminium production decreased slightly to 1.5 million metric tonnes in 2023. Rio Tinto, a major mining company, produces aluminium in Australia.
8. Norway
Norway’s aluminium production declined to 1.3 million metric tonnes. Norway is the largest exporter of primary aluminium in the European Union.
9. Brazil
Brazil’s aluminium output reached 1.1 million metric tonnes last year, marking a significant increase from the previous year. Brazil has substantial bauxite reserves and is investing in its domestic aluminium market.
Aluminium is important for making things like vehicles, electronics, and other goods. China is well-known for its efficient manufacturing and export infrastructure, making it a perfect choice for aluminium production. knowledge Knowledge News, Photos and Videos on General Knowledge
