Washington: US President-elect Donald Trump has announced that Karoline Leavitt will be the White House Press Secretary in his upcoming tenure of presidency.
“Today, the 45th and 47th President of the United States Donald J. Trump announced that Karoline Leavitt will serve as White House Press Secretary. Karoline was the Trump Campaign National Press Secretary and previously served in the Trump White House as Assistant Press Secretary”, said Trump-Vance campaign in a statement.
Leavitt did a phenomenal job: Trump
“Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary. Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again.” the statement added further.
Youngest to Hold Position
Leavitt is 27 years old and has been political aide of Trump. She is set to be the youngest person ever to hold this position, surpassing the previous record set by Ronald Ziegler in 1969.
She began her career as a summer intern in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence and later joined the White House Press Office as an assistant press secretary under Kayleigh McEnany during Trump’s first term.
Leavitt is originally from New Hampshire and has a bachelor’s degree in communications and political science from Saint Anselm College.
