Turkish President Erdogan Condemns ‘Despicable’ Attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the “despicable” terrorist attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) in Ankara, stating that it targeted the country’s survival, peace, and defense initiatives. 

In a statement on X, Erdogan emphasized that the attack was aimed at undermining Turkey’s defense capabilities, which are essential for the nation’s independence.

“The terrorist attack against TAI, one of the locomotive organizations of the Turkish defense industry, is an attack against our country’s very survival,” Erdogan asserted. He praised the swift response of security forces, who quickly neutralized the attackers.

Erdogan vowed that “dirty hands reaching out to Turkiye will definitely be broken,” affirming the government’s commitment to combating all forms of terrorism. “Our fight against all kinds of terrorist threats and their supporters will continue with determination and resolve,” he added.

The attack resulted in the tragic loss of four lives and left 14 others injured. Erdogan extended his condolences to the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the wounded. 

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya urged the public to rely on official statements for updates regarding the situation. Security personnel, firefighters, and paramedics were promptly deployed to the site, and TAI staff were directed to shelters for their safety.
