Two Pradosh vrats in Vaishakh 2025: Dates, puja time and Shiva mantras

Mumbai: The Pradosh Vrat, observed twice a month, is considered one of the most auspicious days for worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. As per the Vedic Panchang, this fast is observed on the Trayodashi Tithi (13th lunar day) during both the Krishna Paksha (waning phase) and Shukla Paksha (waxing phase) of every month. Devotees believe that observing Pradosh Vrat helps one overcome fear and attracts the blessings of Mahadev.

The ritualistic worship is performed during the ‘Pradosh Kaal’ — a period shortly after sunset — and holds deep spiritual importance. As the sacred month of Vaishakh is currently underway, devotees are preparing to observe two Pradosh Vrats during this period. Here’s everything you need to know about the April and May 2025 Pradosh Vrat dates, auspicious puja timings, and important mantras to chant.

When is Pradosh Vrat in Vaishakh 2025?

As with every month, there will be two Pradosh Vrats observed in Vaishakh 2025:

  • First Pradosh Vrat: 25 April 2025 (Friday)
  • Second Pradosh Vrat: 9 May 2025 (Friday)

Both days fall on a Friday, and hence are known as Shukra Pradosh Vrats, considered especially beneficial for wealth, love, and harmony.

1st Pradosh Vrat – 25 April 2025

  • Tithi Begins: 25 April at 11:44 AM
  • Tithi Ends: 26 April at 8:27 AM
  • Puja Timing: 25 April from 6:33 PM to 9:03 PM

Since it falls on a Friday, it is observed as Shukra Pradosh Vrat. Devotees fast during the day and perform evening rituals dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

2nd Pradosh Vrat – 9 May 2025

  • Tithi Begins: 9 May at 2:54 PM
  • Tithi Ends: 10 May at 5:30 PM
  • Puja Timing: 9 May from 6:44 PM to 8:59 PM

This is also a Shukra Pradosh Vrat, and is believed to bring peace in relationships and prosperity at home.
