New Delhi: The UEFA Champions League round of 16 draws has been announced following the conclusion of the playoff. The teams who finished top eight in the league stage of the competition have now been joined by the winners of the playoff for the knockout stage two-legged games.
AC Milan, Juventus and Manchester City are among the top teams from Europe who have been eliminated from the playoffs while Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have progressed to the final 16 round of the competition. From Serie A only Inter Milan have managed to go into the next round of the competition, with Atlanta and their city neighbours both exiting the tournament.
The 16 teams will now play a two-legged final-16 game with the first leg being played March 4-5th and the return fixtures in March 11-12th.

Premier League leaders Liverpool will be facing Paris Saint-Germain who are undefeated in Ligue 1 this season, leading the points table. Liverpool had an almost perfect season at the UEFA Champions League losing the final game at the league stage, taking the pole position. PSG finished 15th and have won against Brest 10-0 in aggregate with their home result being 7-0.
In La Liga, it is Real Madrid facing their city neighbours Atletico Madrid. The two teams have already locked horns thrice this season, with the games ending 1-1 on both occasions in the La Liga. In the Copa del Rey round of 16, Atletico won 4-2 against the defending champions. Real Madrid will come to the draw having nearly missed a spot in the playoff stage. However, they come to the draw winning 6-3 in aggregate against Manchester City.
The German top brass Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are also set to face each other having played a goalless draw earlier this month and played 1-1 in September. Leverkusen have beaten Munich in the round-of-16 of the DFB Pokal. Leverkusen finished sixth with five from eight games in the league while Munich finished 12th and won 3-2 in aggregate against Celtic.
