New Delhi: UEFA Nations League group-stage games from League A have confirmed the quarter-finalists. A total of 16 teams were involved in League A, divided into four groups, each containing four teams. Through September, October, and November, the teams played away and home games with the teams in their group. The ranking of the teams in the group determines their progress in the tournament and where they will start in the next edition.
The team placed fourth will face automatic relegation to League B. The team that finished third will now face the runners-up from League B in yet another home and away promotion and relegation playoffs. The aggregate score will decide the winner of these fixtures and will feature in League A for the 2026/27 season, while losers will feature in League B.
The teams who finish first and second will now feature in two-legged quarter-finals. The final eight games will be played in March 2025, with the winners proceeding to the semi-final in June.

Portugal needed one point from the final two group games, and they assured themselves a place in the final eight with a 5-1 win against Poland. Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace helped his side to finish at the top of their group. Croatia are the second team to confirm their spot in the knockouts after drawing 1-1 with group toppers, with Scotland missing the place by just one point despite a late winner over Poland, who are now relegated to League B.
In Group two, Italy had qualified before France on match day five and were hoping to end their group stage on a winning note. However, Adrien Tabot’s brace against Azzuri ensured that France snatched the top spot from Italy. In the same group, Israel claimed their first win of the tournament, but they still finished last in the group.
The Netherlands, in group three, qualified for the knockout stage with a dominating 4-0 win over Hungary, with Germany already confirmed in the last eight back in October. Their 7-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina means the latter are relegated and will face the third-finishing Hungary.
Denmark’s goalless draw with Serbia on matchday six means they are runners-up in the Group four and will join defending champions Spain in the quarter-finals. Spain had already claimed a place in the knockout stage with Switzerland also relegated from League A before matchday six.
With all eight teams confirmed for the quarter-final fixture in March 2025, here’s a look at the teams and their road to qualification. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
