New Delhi: UFC Saudi Arabia’s prelims card started with the heavyweight fight between Hamdy Abdelwahab and Jamal Pogue at the ANB arena in Riyadh on February 1, Saturday. Both fighters pulled a neck-to-neck fight and the bout went to the decision in the end.
The fight was very patient and no fighter took any risk early in the fight. Both were looking to find right shots at the right time and the first round was won by Abdelwahab but Pogue fought back hard in the second round.
The fight was in balance and no one took the full control in the fight and the decision of the bout came in a split decision in the favor of Abdelwahab. The Egyptian is unbeaten in the UFC with a record of 6-0.
The first knockout of the event came in the second fight, where Bogdan Grad knocked out Lucas Alexander by TKO in the second round. Grad was making his debut in the UFC but Lucas gave him a tough time early in the bout.
Lucas was much faster compared to Grad and both fighters exchange some nasty shots in the first round. Grad stormed to Lucas in the start of second round and took him down to the mat and started some hot blows on him and atlast refree stopped the fight.
Terrance McKinney impressed everyone in the arena by his performance as the young lad finished Damir Hadzovic in the first round via TKO. McKinney wasted no time and attacked Hadzovic early and put pressure on him.
McKinney hit two hooks to Hadzovic and put him into the canvas. After that he finished him with his elbows and punches and won the fight under three minutes.
