New Delhi: As soon as Yusuf Dikec, a 51-year-old shooter from Turkey, became an overnight internet sensation, another picture of an Asian shooter went viral, breaking the internet. The fans on social media noticed Dikec for his nonchalant style and particularly for not using any gear that helps a shooter ease out the target. Dikec put the internet on fire with his seemingly laid-back attitude.
Dikec, who clinched a silver medal for his nation in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, looked like it was all casual for him. After Dikec’s fan-following took a bit of rest, another picture started floating on the internet, this time of a shooter facing backward to the target with a background of Paris Olympics cushions. He notably held a mirror in his hand, trying to locate the target while holding a pistol in another hand.
The netizens started hailing the shooter as another legend after Dikec to have impressed at the Paris Olympics 2024 as they considered it crazy to be shooting facing backwards using only a mirror. But… it later turned out to be a fake picture and another perfect example of both how dangerous photoshopping can be and how perfectly one can make a positive use of it.

Where’s the picture from?
It was revealed that the picture was from an Asian TV show and wasn’t real. The shooter was very delicately taken off the show’s background and was put into the Paris Olympics’ cushions background to let the fans think that he is indeed from the ongoing Summer Games. This isn’t anything new for the “memers” (fans who make internet jokes) who are smart enough to make note of such things and involve those in the ongoing trends to make it a new internet storm.
