When did Kohli play last Ranji Trophy match?
Virat Kohli last played a Ranji Trophy clash back in 2012 when Delhi faced Uttar Pradesh at Ghaziabad’s Mohan Nagar. Since the last 13 years, the veteran cricketer has been shinning high at the national level and his batting has come under the scanner after series of poor run in the matches recently.
“Kohli has been advised rest because of a neck sprain sustained during the final Test against Australia at Sydney. He is not available for the Saurashtra game. About the Railways game, which is also Delhi’s last league encounter, we are still not sure,” a senior DDCA official told news agency PTI on conditions of anonymity.
Initially, the Delhi selection committee had picked a 22-member provisional squad and Kohli’s participation was subject to availability but he was named in the list. Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley was waiting to get a confirmation on the star batter’s availability so the squad was not officially released.
