Srinagar received fresh snowfall on December 11, 2024, with many other higher reaches receiving fresh snowfall on Wednesday, even as the minimum temperature increased across the valley, officials said. Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Gurez and Srinagar received fresh snowfall on Wednesday afternoon as intermittent snowfall continued in the other areas in the higher reaches of the valley.

Srinagar city recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3 degrees Celsius, up from the season’s lowest of minus 5.4 degrees Celsius the previous night.

With the fresh day, the temperature on December 12, 2024, is 3 degrees at 10:30 am with a minimum temperature to go down by minus 6 degrees Celsius. Light snowfall and heavy rain showers are predicted in the region.

The first ever direct train from Delhi to Srinagar, Vande-Bharat is all set to train between both places from January 2025, marking a historic moment for Indian railways. The connectivity will ease travelling, making it a worth-visiting destination and a train journey through the scenic routes.
