New Delhi: Indian spin bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar has been added to the Test squad for the remainder part of the series against New Zealand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the development on Sunday.
The move comes after India suffered an eight-wicket loss to New Zealand in the overcast conditions of Bengaluru in the first Test. Sundar, who has played four Test matches for India with his last appearance made in March 2021 against England in Ahmedabad, will join the existing 15-member Indian squad led by Rohit Sharma.
The release from the BCCI mentioned that the Tamil Nadu player is expected to join the squad ahead of the second Test against New Zealand, starting on October 24 in Pune.
