Ingredients:
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- ½ cup water (or as required)
- 1 cup grated jaggery
- ½ cup water (for preparing jaggery syrup)
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- Oil or ghee (for frying)
Instructions:
- Prepare the dough: In a bowl, mix wheat flour and ghee. Slowly add water and knead into a firm dough. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.
- Make small discs: After 15–20 minutes, roll out small portions of the dough into thick, circular discs.
- Fry the gunas: In a pan, heat oil or ghee and deep-fry the discs over a low flame until they turn golden brown and crisp. Once all are fried, remove and set aside.
- Prepare the jaggery syrup: In another pan, melt jaggery with water and cook until it reaches a one-string consistency. Add cardamom powder for enhanced flavour.
- Coat the gunas: Dip the fried gunas in the jaggery syrup and coat them well. Store in an airtight container.
