New Delhi: Australian pacer Scott Boland produced two exceptional deliveries to clean up both Indian openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal during the visitors’ second innings of the ongoing 5th Test between the two sides in Sydney. Boland drew the first blood for Australia by bamboozling Rahul before knocking over Jaiswal’s stumps in quick succession.

After bundling Australia for 181 runs and taking a slender 4-run lead, Indian openers Rahul and Jaiswal got the team off to a solid start. The two openers negated the new ball threat as Jaiswal took the aggressive route while Rahul remained cautious in his approach. The duo added 42 runs for the first wicket before Boland broke the partnership in the 8th over by dismissing Rahul.

Boland bowled a peach of delivery to clean up Rahul on the 3rd delivery of the 8th over. It was a full-length delivery pitched outside off which nipped back in and kissed Rahul’s bat before crashing on to his stumps. The Indian opener was sent packing after scoring 13 off 20 balls as Australia had their first breakthrough in the game.

The young Indian opener, who was looking in cracking touch, git dismissed after scoring 22 off 35 balls.
