‘Whatever happens, maarte jaao’: Rinku Singh reveals Gautam Gambhir’s message after 86-run win vs BAN

New Delhi: The Men in Blue defeated Bangladesh by 86 runs in the second T20I at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday. Suryakumar Yadav and Co. took a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Batting first, Team India scored 221 runs in the 20 overs.

The Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson tried to provide a flying start to their team but Taskin Ahmed dismissed Sanju on 10 runs while Mustafizur Rahman and Tanzim Hasan dismissed Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma cheaply.

Despite losing early wickets, Team India continued their attacking batting approach as Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh built a 108-run partnership. Nitish scored 74 runs off 34 balls, his explosive knock was laced with four boundaries and seven maximums while Rinku Singh also batted well and scored 53 runs off 29 balls. Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag also played a crucial cameo in the end to help India post a big total on the scoreboard.

After the match, Rinku Singh revealed that the coach and captain asked them to keep hitting the ball. Rinku has worked with Gambhir in the Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL and further said that he has given players full freedom to hit the ball.

“The coach and captain have asked us to play our game and whatever the situation (is), the message from them is maarte jao ball ko (just keep hitting the ball). The coach has asked us to back ourselves and play your game. He has given us full freedom to hit the ball” Rinku said at the post-match press conference

Indian bowlers did a fantastic job and restricted Bangladesh to 135 runs in the run-chase. Nitish Reddy and Varun Chakaravarthy picked up two wickets each while Arshdeep, Sundar, Abhishek, Mayank and Parag also took one wicket each. The last and final match of the series will be played in Hyderabad on October 12.
