New Delhi: BC Ramesh becomes the new head coach of Bengaluru Bulls ahead of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 12. The Bulls finished the PKL season 11 in the last position and won just two matches out of 22. This was the worst season for the Bulls franchise in PKL history.
The news came after Randhir Singh resigned from his post. Randhir coached the Bulls’ side for consecutive 11 seasons but now after their worst season, Randhir resigned from his post. He was also the longest-serving coach in the PKL history.
Ramesh now becomes the second head coach in PKL history who served PKL all 11 seasons after Randhir. Ramesh was also the assistant coach of the Bulls team when Bulls lifted their maiden PKL title in PKL season 6.
“Pride of Karnataka, Arjuna awardee B. C. Ramesh sir, now the drone of the Bangalore Bulls team! Ramesh Sir, who won his first trophy with the Bulls in 2018, has also achieved victories with Pune and Bengal.” the Bulls announced on their social media handles.
Ramesh is known for nurturing young talents and he is one of the people in Kabaddi, who won multiple titles as a coach and a player as well. Ramesh also won the Arjuna Award in 2001 after his performance in Kabaddi.
Ramesh also has international experience in Kabaddi as he coached the Argentine Kabaddi team in the Kabaddi World Cup. He also led Puneri Paltan to their maiden PKL trophy in PKL season 10.
Ramesh’s PKL 11 also didn’t go well as he resigned midway in the tournament. He was the coach of Paltan’s and Paltan didn’t make the run to defend their title.
