New Delhi: Wipro’s share turn ex-date for bonus shares on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, indicating that this will be considered as the record date for a 1:1 bonus share issuance by the IT giant. The Azim Premji founded Rishad Premji-led IT company based in Bengaluru is known for its consistent share issuance over the years which has turned many shareholders into millionaires.

Wirpon in an exchange filing on November 1, 2024, announced that December 3, 2024, had been fixed as the record date for its next bonus share issuance, This means that shareholders who have Wipro’s shares on December 3, 2024, will receive 1 bonus share for every 1 Wipro share held by them.

Wipro has issued bonus shares thrice in the past 15 years, The last bonus issuance was made in 2019 when the IT company issued 1 bonus share for every 3 shares held by stakeholders.

In 2017, Wipro announced a 1:1 bonus share issuance. Prior to that, Wipro bonus share issue was offered in the ratio of 3 shares for every 2 shares held in 2010.

Wipro’s stock is known to have given stellar returns to some investors over the past 15 years. Wipro’s share price was valued at Rs 50 per share in 2009. An investment of Rs 10,000 at that point would have yielded 200 stocks in the investor’s kitty. A 1:1 bonus issuance in 2010 would have doubled this stake to 400 shares. Bonus issuance in 2017 and 2019 would have grown this stake into over 800 shares. At Tuesday, price, Wipro’s 800 shares would have been valued at over Rs 4.6 lakh, equalling over 46 per cent growth in returns on actual investment.
