‘Without him series would have been one-sided’: Ex-Australian pacer on Jasprit Bumrah

New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah has picked up 30 wickets in the four matches of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, including three five-wicket hauls. He has been a stand-out performer for the Men in Blue across four matches of the series. The star Indian pacer had a stunning year with the ball in 2024 as he picked up 71 wickets in 13 Test matches at an average of 14.92.

He also became the fastest Indian pacer to take 200 wickets in Test cricket, surpassing the record of legendary Kapil Dev. He completed the milestone in his 44th Test match while Kapil Dev reached the milestone in 50 Test matches. Bumrah also became the second fastest Indian along with Ravindra Jadeja to complete 200 wickets in Test cricket.

Bumrah will be eager to continue his stunning form in 2025 and help India level the ongoing series by winning the fifth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Rohit and Co. will look to win the last Test of the series to keep their World Test Championship (WTC) final hopes alive. South Africa have already qualified for the WTC final and both India and Australia are competing for one remaining spot.

‘Without Bumrah, the series might have been more one-sided’: Glenn McGrath

Legendary Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath has said that Bumrah has been a massive part of the Indian Test team and without him the series might have been more one-sided and what he has done for the team is special.

“Terrific young guy who has found a way to adapt. Absolutely incredible how he powers into bowl the last few steps” McGrath was quoted as saying by PTI.

“Got a little bit of hyperextension which I used to have as well. He is coping with it and has incredible control both ways, guess they are managing him well. I am a massive fan of Jasprit” he added.

Legendary Australia fast bowler feels the ongoing five-match Test series between India and Australia would’ve been a lot one-sided without Jasprit Bumrah.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
