New Delhi: Swiggy, the online food delivery platform has launched a new initiative named ‘Swiggy Seal’. It has been launched to improve the food quality and hygiene among the restaurant partners of the company which are present on the platform.

According to reports, the initiative has been started in Pune and will be steadily increased in November. After it is gradually scaled up, the Swiggy Seal will cover more than 650 cities in India. As per Swiggy, the program was launched two weeks ago and since then the restaurant partners have shown a high interest in the initiative. If it is found that the restaurant is failing to maintain the standards, then Swiggy may revoke the badge.

A step to serve hygienic, high-quality meals

Restaurant menu pages will have the ‘Swiggy Seal’ badge to highlight those who are known for serving hygienic meals in quality packaging. As per Swiggy, it is leveraging insights provided by 7 million verified customers in the last six months. The objective of the Swiggy Seal is to increase the hygiene practices of the restaurants. The restaurant partners of Swiggy will receive comprehensive insights to ensure the customers get well-cooked, hygienic food.

Swiggy, by dint of this initiative, will share detailed feedback and reviews from verified customers with restaurant partners. The feedback will focus on key areas like optimal cooking, contamination prevention, and the quality of packaging. It will help restaurants to identify the areas they can improve and implement hygiene practices. Also, Swiggy plans to work with agencies accredited by the FSSAI like Eurofins and Equinox so that restaurants can get professional hygiene audits at exclusive rates.
