New Delhi: WWE Smackdown kicked off with Joe Tessitore introducing WWE Undisputed champion Cody Rhodes to the ring. Rhodes got a huge cheer from the crowd and Tessitore gave a brief about how the University of Texas is the hometown of Cody’s father Dustin Rhodes.
Rhodes praised Kevin Owens as he is a genius in the ring and performed 10 by 10 in every match. Rhodes will take on Owens in the ladder match at Royal Rumble 2025. The American Eagle will be on top as he is one of the stars in recent history to defeat Roman Reigns and WWE Heavyweight champion Gunther.
The Owens vs Jimmy Uso match was set up for the main event of the night. The match started with Owens moving out of the ring and started talking about Joe from the commentary table. Jimmy picked Owens from behind and hit him with an uppercut. Jimmy threw Owens back into the middle of the ring but Owens grabbed him with a headlock.
Owens then slammed Jimmy to the ground with a right hand followed by an elbow on his head. Owens was dominating the match, but Jimmy fought back by hitting a clothesline to Owens.
Jimmy tried an armbar on Owens but Owens reversed the attack and threw him in the ground. Jimmy denied the attack, hit a superkick, and went for the pinfall, but Owens kicked out. Jimmy was marching to the victory by hitting a spear on Owens and then climbing to the top rope but, Owens threw Jimmy’s shoulder to the turnbuckle, hit his signature move pop-up powerbomb, and won the match.
