New Delhi: Zimbabwe will take on Pakistan in the third and final T20I of the series which is scheduled at the Queens Sports Park in Bulawayo on Thursday. Having already conceded the series by handing an unassailable 2-0 lead to Pakistan, Zimbabwe will aim to bag a consolation win in the dead rubber game while the visitors’ motive will be to make a complete sweep 3-0.
It all started with a three-match ODI series, which Pakistan clinched 2-1 and the focus then shifted towards the T20Is. In the first T20I, Pakistan claimed victory by 57 runs. Opting to bat first, Pakistan posted 165/4 in their stipulated 20 overs on the back of twin 39s from Usman Khan and Tayyab Tahir. In response, Zimbabwe did make some efforts as skipper Sikandar Raza scored 39 runs but were eventually bundled out for 108 in 15.3 overs.
The second T20I was an interesting affair as the hosts won the toss and decided to bat first against the Men in Green. The Pakistani bowlers showed their class and this time, wrapped them up for a paltry 57 in 12.4 overs. The Pakistani openers chased down the target in only 5.3 overs as Pakistan won the game by 10 wickets and took an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the T20I series.
