4 Killed, 9 Injured After Minivan Crashes Into Nail Salon in New York’s Long Island

Long Island: In a tragic incident, four people were killed while nine others sustained injuries after a minivan plowed into a nail salon on Friday, June 29, as per media reports

According to reports, a man driving the minivan smashed through the Hawaii Nail & Spa in Deer Park at around 4:30 pm local time — trapping customers and employees inside the shop.

The vehicle crashed into the salon from the front, with the entire storefront shattered and the ceiling ripped down, leaving a big trail of destruction.

Speaking to the median, Deer Park Third Assistant Chief Dominic Albanese said that among the nine injured, some were critically injured. The driver was also taken to the hospital.

The witnesses at the site said that the van raced through a parking lot across the street, seemingly in a rush to get out of the place. However, in an attempt for this, the driver overtook another car that was stopped at a traffic light, and as the van was trying to turn onto Grand Boulevard, it flew right into the salon.

As of now, the officials have not been able to indemnify if the crash was intentional or not.

Details of the victims have also not been made available yet.
