Red Fort

The Red Fort in Delhi is one of the most popular forts in India. It was once the main residence of the Mughal emperors and was built by Emperor Shah Jahan after he decided to shift the Mughal capital from Agra to Delhi. The Red Fort represents the pinnacle of Mughal architecture during Shah Jahan’s reign, and every year on August 15, the Prime Minister ceremonially raises the Tricolour at the fort’s main gate and delivers a nationally broadcast address from its ramparts.

Qutub Minar
