New Delhi: From getting greeted by Virat Kohli with folded hands as an 18-year-old to getting lauded by him for his maiden Test century on Saturday, Sarfaraz Khan has come a long way in his career. It was another epic moment between the duo in Bengaluru on Sunday as Kohli was seen cheering for Sarfaraz and appreciating him after his brilliant century in the ongoing 1st test between India and New Zealand.

9 years ago during IPL 2015, an 18 -year-old Sarfaraz played a sensational knock of 21-ball 45 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against Rajasthan Royals in Bengaluru. His knock was laced with some terrific shots, leaving the then RCB skipper Kohli in awe. While walking back to the dressing room after his knock, Sarfaraz was greeted by Kohli with folded hands.

The moment broke the internet and went viral instantly. 9 years later Kohli was once again in awe after Sarfaraz toyed with the New Zealand bowling attack in Bengaluru on Saturday to notch up his first Test hundred for India. Sarfaraz completed his hundred off just 110 balls to help India stage a remarkable fightback after their terrible collapse in the first innings.

Kohli was seen clapping for Sarfaraz from the dressing room after the 26-year-old completed his maiden Test hundred for India in the game. The Team India superstar was later seen giving Sarfaraz a pat on the back and teasing him as the centurion entered the dressing room after his stupendous effort in Bengaluru. Sarfaraz, who was dismissed on a duck during India’s spectacular collapse in their first innings, bounced back strongly to punish the New Zealand bowlers en route to his terrific ton in the hosts’ second innings. Sarfaraz slammed an unbeaten 125 to propel India to 344/3 in their second innings before rain delayed the proceedings and early lunch was taken on Day 4.
